When we’re out in nature, it’s good to make a record of what’s around us so that we can see how the environment is changing. Official records are sometimes called ‘surveys’. This is a detailed log of everything we notice around this. This might change depending on the time of year.
Activity
Walk around your outdoor space. Make some general observations to start with, such as the weather and time of year. Then start to fill in the survey according to what you can see. Make sure you look very closely!
Reflection
Q. How easy was it to complete your survey?
Q. What do you think of your outdoor space? Do you think nature is thriving well?
Q. How do you think your outdoor space will change throughout the year? How can you help to look after it?
